Everyday I get up, I take for granted that the coffee is made, my family is
ok and then I watch the local news as I eat breakfast. All the crimes locally
that seem so bad and there is rarely any good news. But then I leave and start
my day. I'm in the business of illusion and fantasy. Pro Wrestling and Acting
where nothing is real but staged for your enjoyment. When I put on the news
yesterday and saw the Twin Towers collapsing and an airplane like a bomb crashing
into the building, I thought this must be from a movie, a world of illusion.
But, then I listened and realized this was real. My chin hit the floor as I
continued to watch. I couldn't believe that this was happening here in the US
today.
Here on the West Coast we went through a devastating earthquake a few years back and we rebuilt and survived. We even made it a better city. I pray with all my heart that we rebuild the East as we did out here. We can't replace the thousands of lives lost and it saddens me very deeply. But we can treasure what we have near us today and not ever take for granted what we have. Family, love, and all the things that comfort us can be taken away in a heartbeat. We need to treasure that, unite and keep this world safe from any other being that tries to enter and destroy. I urge all of you to say a prayer in a moment of silence for all of those affected by this terrible tragedy. Lets pull together and offer all the help we can to keep this the strongest nation there is and what we have always believed. All of this starts at home. It's easy to get lost in a world of illusion like I have, but this is a 'wake up' call of reality and we can turn this around and rebuild. My heart goes out to all of you on the East coast who has suffered the loss of loved ones and I want you to know how much we all care and are there for you. We will make it through this and turn it into a better country. Ric Ric 'The Equalizer'Drasin www.ricdrasin.com
