Ric and Joe were friends since the mid 60's at Joe's original Gold's gym
on Ocean ave in Venice.  After Ric designed the Gold's logo, Joe came back 
from sea and opened World Gym.  At that time he asked Ric to come up
with a Gorilla for the World Gym logo which Ric designed.
